Why Should We Fast?

There are many mentions of Fasting in both OT and NT, but I tried to understand the motives of why people were fasting, and the usefulness of Fasting and more specifically what is God’s view of fasting! The theology of fasting is a theology of priorities—an undivided and intensive devotion to the Lord and concerns of the spiritual life. (Do you have that sort of undivided devotion in your life? and concerns of the spiritual life?) Even Jesus taught that his disciples can expect spiritual blessings if they fast in a manner that God views as righteous. Sermon by Pastor Rene Lussier on 20 January 2019
